This report is the result of group deliberations. It implements national data & also incorporates region specific data. Although the focus of the report is on unintentional injury, frequent reference is also made to intentional injury, e.g. self-harm & suicide. Between 1982-85, intentional injuries were the second leading cause of death among registered Indians. Strategies to decrease the injury rate among aboriginal peoples, & objectives in establishing such a program are presented. (44 refs)
