This article discusses the J E V I Foundation in Sherbrooke, Quebec which was established to help prevent suicide in young people. The Foundations’s orientation is to help young people develop good mental health which, in turn, will result in a substantial decrease in self-destructive behaviors. Information on the 4 levels of action in suicide prevention (promotion, prevention, intervention, postvention), youth programs, programs for educators, & programs for different environments is presented.
