This article looks at current life expectancy within Aboriginal populations & compares them with similar data from indigenous populations overseas. Australian Aborigines were found to have the lowest life expectancy when compared with New Zealand Maoris & Canadian Indians. Deaths due to suicide & other forms of violence occurred at higher rates in the Canadian Indian & Australian Aborigine populations. (39 refs.)
