What can I do? If I Suspect Someone I Know is Thinking About Suicide?

Myths about suicide & warning signs of possible suicidal thoughts are presented. 4 intervention activities are outlined: 1) Confirm that the person has thought about suicide; 2) Assess the seriousness of these thoughts; 3) Respond to these thoughts by listening & offering support to find help; & 4) Evaluate what you have experienced by talking to someone else who is knowledgable about suicide. Copies of the pamphlet can be obtained from Algoma Child & Youth Services (10 cents each plus GST).
