This paper discusses personality structure & its relation to suicide. 312 undergraduate subjects from 2 universities were assessed using the Suicide Ideation Cognitive Trait Scale (SICTS). In addition, 66 subjects admitted to a psychiatric unit for young offenders were evaluated using the Suicide Checklist, SCL. Suicidal ideation as assessed by the SICTS was used to evaluate these scores. Past history of life-threatening attempts correlated with SICTS total. (47 refs.)
