Suicidal Ideation and Suicide Attempts Among Patients with Panic Disorder: A Survey of two Outpatient Clinics

This study analyzes the prevalence of suicidal ideation & suicide attempts among out-patients with panic disorder, & out-patients with both panic disorder & comorbid borderline personality disorder. Suicide attempts & ideation were reported by 2% of those with panic disorder, compared to attempts by 25% & ideation by 27% with panic disorder & borderline personality disorder. This is inconsistent with other studies, perhaps because of a lack of distinction between thoughts of death & ideation.
