Book Review – Children of Alcoholics: Critical Perspectives by M Windle and J S Searles

This review describes a book which provides a critical review of the literature on children of alcoholics, as well as recommendations for improved & further study. The book discusses biopsychosocial models, measurement issues, the need for multivariate statistical models, typological research, subgroup differences, the study of protective & vulnerability factors, & practical applications of research. The author recommends the book, but feels some important areas are neglected. (VM)
