This article argues against euthanasia. The author feels euthanasia would add to the killing in a society that already indulges itself too much in this way. He discusses 4 central issues: (1) self-determination & well-being; (2) the difference between killing & allowing to die; (3) whether legalized euthanasia has any proven harmful consequences; & (4) the compatibility of euthanasia & medical practice. The author concludes it is not medicine’s place to evaluate when life is worth living. (VM)
