Toward a Nosology of Self-Injury Behaviors. The Need for a System of Classification

The author attempted to classify factors relevant to the understanding of self-injuries on a temporal dimension. A naturalistic descriptive classification system of variables related to self-injury behavior was presented. It is meant to be inclusive of the known & potential relationships of value to an understanding of self-injury phenomena.
