This article begins by defining culture, & discussing cross-cultural psychiatry. The author then describes traditional Chinese medicine & its psychiatric implications, & the use of mental health services in the U.S. by Chinese Americans. He concludes that mental health incidence in the Chinese is similiar to the American general population, but the hospitalization & use of other resources is much less – possibly due to stigma, reliance on family support, & lack of knowledge about facilities.(VM)
