This chapter looks at bereaved adults who may be at risk. Possible problems related to the age, type &/or circumstances associated with the death are all considered. For people bereaved by suicide, problems include having to admit that their relationship with the victim was not working well & being stigmatized &/or socially isolated because of the manner of the death. Research suggests that the provision of counselling for the bereaved may reduce the incidence of suicide among them. (16 refs.)
