The author describes his analysis of a young man (aged 24 at the beginning of analysis). The subject exhibited a state between persecution & a desire for restitution of his rights. He envisioned the massacre of his entire family & his analyst, followed by his own suicide, in retribution for the “evil” that had been done to him. However, the focus of the article is on the patient’s social relationships & his inability to work, particularly as these affected his progress in analysis. (6 refs.)
