In this letter to the editor, the authors report the occurrence of transient psychosis in an 11-year-old girl with a history of head trauma & an abnormal intake EEG, who was treated with fluoxetine for major depression & suicidal ideation. Within 24 hours of discontinuing fluoxetine, the patient was no longer delusional. No recurrence of delusional perceptions was noted at a 2-month follow-up. The quick resolution of symptoms after the drug was discontinued is briefly discussed. (3 refs.)
