In this study, B-adrenoceptor binding sites in 9 brain regions from 13 suicide victims who had been receiving antidepressant drugs & 11 suicide victims who had not. The authors found lower numbers of B-adrenoceptor binding sites in the thalamus & temporal cortex of antidepressant-treated suicides. The lower number of binding sites in the thalamus was found just in the antidpressant treated victims, whereas the lower amounts in the temporal cortex were found in both groups of suicide victims.(VM)
