This study examined data from 234 completed suicides in Philadelphia during 1972 & 208 attempted suicides seen at a general hospital during 1971-73 whose suicidal actions were scored on the objective scale of suicidal intent. The correlates of suicidal intent were quite different in samples of completed & attempted suicides, suggesting that the suicidal intent scale may measure different qualities in the 2 groups. (1 ref.)
