The authors state that community-based programs that deal with adolescent suicide must consider networking as no one organization can provide all the needed information, expertise & resources. Urban networking is placed in an historical perspective & current thinking about interorganization agreements is reviewed. Essential strategies for building networks are discussed. Several network models which have been developed for the prevention of high risk behaviours among urban youth are presented.
