This paper presents data regarding suicidal ideation & attempts, suicide-related hospitalizations & completed suicides among Connecticut youth, comparing them with data from other states & the USA. Girls had higher rates of attempts & hospitalization, boys had higher rates of completions. Reported rates of suicidal behaviour are lower among Connecticut youth compared to other states, but suicide is increasing among young Connecticut males & remains a major issue for health care providers.
