Abstract
Laterality and 3H-Imipramine Binding: Studies in the Frontal Cortex of Normal Controls and Suicide Victims
Arora R C~~et al
Serotonin-sensitive imipramine binding was determined in the left & right hemisphere of frontal cortex of suicide victims & nonpsychiatric controls. The Kd was significantly higher in left than right hemisphere in normal controls. There were no differences in Bmax & Kd or Bmax between left & right hemispheres in normals & suicides. Results do not support the finding of hemispheric assymetry of 5-HT uptake as measured by imipramine binding (Bmax) in postmortem tissue from controls & suicides.
