The prevalence of mental disorders among adolescent suicide victims was investigated in a nationwide psychological autopsy study. Data were collected through interviews of the victims’ relatives & attending health care personnel & from official records. A large majority of victims suffered from a mental disorder, the most prevalent being depressive disorders. Results indicated a strong relationship between adolescent suicide & the presence of depression, antisocial behaviour & alcohol abuse.
