This editorial discusses the lack of publicity which prevention techniques, programs & associations have received. For example, the development of Prozac, which alters the amount of serotonin in the brain, received more negative publicity than anything, yet it has been approved by both U.S. & Canadian official agencies. The author asserts that advocates of suicide prevention are needed, so researchers & caregivers can spend more time saving lives, & less time refuting inconclusive findings. (VM)
