This article describes the cognitive aspects of suicidality & the validity of the Rorschach test in assessing these components. The author reviews the studies on cognitive factors & suicide, & provides a case history involving cognitive regression. She concludes that the Rorschach displays all the important features expected in such a model, including marginal reality testing, rapid shifts between concrete & symbolic thinking, & disruption of interntal-external boundaries.
