A clinical study of 42 schizophrenic suicides is presented. Ss were compared with both 84 sex & age-matched & 60 5-year illness course non-suicidal schizophrenic control groups. Suicidal schizophrenics were significantly different from both control groups in having a history of suicide attempts, psychotic symptoms & depression in their final month & a history of psychiatric hospitalizations. Findings are discussed in the context of the different clinical & socio-cultural background of these Ss.
