This manuscript is divided into 6 parts. Part 1 examines suicide among the Inuit in both traditional & modern times. The 2nd part examines suicide in general & the 3rd section attempts to explain suicide specifically among Inuit youth. Parts 4 & 5 explore the roles of acculturation & internal colonialism in Inuit suicide. The 6th part is a summary which reiterates the argument that Inuit suicide is an expression of much greater social problems. The necessity of further research is pointed out.
