In this study, 45 teenagers who had attempted suicide were followed up with direct contact for a year. The females identified problems with family conflict, relationships with the opposite sex, school & work situations, & relationships with peers. The male adolescents were more likely to be in legal trouble, & suffer feelings of inadequacy, isolation, being ill or without work. Two case histories are also described. (VM)
