Presents the case of a 19 yr old male who took an unknown quantity of colchicine as well as other drugs in an apparent suicidal gesture. Although taken to the emergency department, the S was discharged after a psychiatric assessment the next day. The S re-presented to the emergency room 48 hours later & despite critical care medicine, he died. The authors outline the clinical course of this type of overdose & treatment procedures. (6 refs.)
