Identified 25 Ss who weighed at least 130% of their ideal body weight out of a series of 591 patients with bulimia nervosa. This group was compared to 25 Ss with bulimia nervosa who were 90-110% of their ideal body weight. Members of the overweight group were binge-eating & vomiting less than the comparison group, but were more likely to abuse laxatives & report a history of self-injurious behaviour & suicide attempt(s). Both groups reported frequent binge eating. (13 refs.)
