This study examines whether the false consensus bias (i.e. people perceiving their own judgements & attributes as relatively common) applies to psychologically disturbed adolescents who describe themselves as very depressed or suicidal. After reading a newspaper article about a child’s suicidal or viral illness death, the psychologically disturbed adolescents rated both children as more psychologically disturbed than a control group did.
