Illustrates how techniques derived from Eriksonian hypnosis (O’Hanlon, 1987) were used in the treatment of a suicidal 42-yr-old married woman with debilitating memories of previously dissociated incest experiences. Conscious & unconscious techniques were combined to enable the S to resolve issues from the past incest trauma in the context of a secure & positive present orientation while building a practical foundation for nonsymptomatic future perceptions & behaviours.
