One example is that of a 16.5 year old female referred for therapy following a brief psychiatric hospitalization after a suicidal gesture. She expressed concern about her sexual identity, claiming she was a boy trapped in a girl’s body. Fantasy configurations about gender were revealed in the Ss’ inner states of conflict & confusion.
