Provides a framework for combining individual & family treatment procedures in therapeutic intervention with suicidal patients. Family treatment aims to modify processes in the system that are assumed to play a role in the genesis & maintenance of the suicidal crisis. Individual therapy aims at a collaborative evaluation & restructuring of the patient’s beliefs systems. The use of this combined approach is illustrated in 3 case studies. (16 refs.)
