Describes a program developed by a psychiatric hospital to help high school students deal with the precipitous death of a classmate. The program involved teachers, school counsellors & administrators in identifying students at high risk of suicide & in helping students through the grief process. Results of a survey conducted with 59 individuals involved in the hospital’s postvention program indicate that there was improvement after participation in the program. (11 refs.)
