This study examined over 10,000 prehospital care report forms of adolescents who accessed prehospital care through the emergency medical service. They required care more frequently than other pediatric patients. They most often needed care for trauma, but also for behavioral emergencies, such as suicide & psychiatric problems. The most common cause of injury was automobiles, & the most common substances given to adolescents were naloxone & 50% dextrose. (VM)
