This study examined all firearm fatalities in Victoria, Australia for 1988. The author found 71% were suicides, 24% homiicides, 2% accidental, & 2% undetermined. Twice as many males were homicide victims as females. Almost half the homicides were of a domestic nature, while 15% were criminals shot by the police. Other demographic information, such as age, sex, marital status, & weapon type is detailed. Selected international comparisons are also presented. (VM)
