This article discusses backlog refugees in Canada. Canada’s human rights record was reviewed by the United Nations Human Rights Committee, & they found that refugees suffer from many of the symptoms of post traumatic stress disorder, & 58% reported their symptoms had deteriorated since arriving in Canada. Many also reported suicidal ideation. Backlog refugees are not allowed to bring their families to Canada until their cases have been decided. (VM)
