This article details male & female suicide rates in approximately 70 countries. The author describes studies which correlate female suicide rates in nations throughout the world. The author studies female suicide rates from 18 industrialized nations, & finds that both male & female suicide rates have similar social correlates. However, rates among women in Asia & South & Central America are markedly different than western countries. (VM)
