This article discusses the legal status of assisted suicide under the U.S. Constitution. The author discusses the 14th Amendment, as well as court cases on the right to refuse medical treatment, the right to privacy, the right to autonomy, the preservation of life, & the protection of 3rd parties. He also debates the impact of assisted suicide on the integrity of the medical profession, & the social interest in preventiong suicide. He concludes there is no legal basis for assisted suicide. (VM)
