This article analyzes U.S. law & assisted suicide. The author describes a number of court cases, & their legal implications. California & other state homicide laws are detailed; the author explains that assisted suicide could easily be defined as 1st degree murder. Civil law & medical professinals are discussed, as well as a Netherlands law, which allows assisted suicide under certain conditions. The author concludes that U.S. assisted suicide laws need to be updated. (VM)
