This article describes adolescent development; the author describes adolescence as a time of uncertainty & ambiguity. Sections on suicide among adults & young people follow, including the common characteristics of suicide victims. The author concludes by discussing whether people should have the right to commit suicide. He believes young people will identify with the suicide, & use suicide as a coping device during this difficult, transitional period of life. (VM)
