This study analyzed the relationship between the birth rates of young single & married women in the 48 continental states of the USA with the suicide rates of these groups to determine if illegitimacy affected the suicide rate. No evidence was found which associated female youths’ suicide rates & illegitimate pregnancy. (VM)
