Youth suicide rates have been increasing in the past 2 decades, & the tendency for suicides to occur in clusters has concurrently increased. The authors review the characteristics of adolescent suicide & cluster suicide, & the culturally specific patterns of suicide among Indian people. A suicide cluster among teenage & young adult males of a Plains Indian tribe is described, & the clinical implications of intervention strategies during a suicide cluster are discussed. (VM)
