Surveyed 962 college students from 3 institutions in regard to their experiences with depression & suicide. Results indicate that incidents of depression & suicide are prevalent on college campuses & that there are a number of specific causes of depression, suicidal ideation, & suicidal behaviour. Suicide attempters are compared with nonattempters, institutions are compared, & institutional implications for colleges & universities are discussed. (20 refs.)
