This article describes the important role an athletics coach can play in preventing suicide among students. The author outlines verbal, behavioral, & situational indicators which demonstrate possible suicidal intent. He provides counselling tips for talking with suicidal youth. He also emphasizes that teamwork should be emphasized in preventing suicide; students should be encouraged to come to the coach if they are worried about a teammates. (VM)
