Conclusions and Recommendations: College Student Suicide (IN: College Student Suicide, ed. by L C Whitaker and R E Slimak)

Notes the most salient risk factors & presents administrative & legal concerns in discussing college student suicide. The article also describes the community-based suicide prevention program of the US Coast Guard Academy. In the 5 years before the program began, 4 cadets & 1 instructor committed suicide; in the following 16 years not one completed suicide has occurred. Recommendations for college student suicide prevention programs are given.
