This article discusses how biological changes affect suicide across the life span. General studies, as well as life span findings are presented on 17-hydroxycorticosteroids, cortisol, 5-hydroxyindoeacetic acid, serotonin & tritiated imipramine binding, 3-methoxy-4-hydroxynphenylglycol, homovanillic acid, norepinephrine & epinephrine, etc. The authors conlcude that although the research is promising, correlating biological factors with age is premature.
