The author of this article asserts that knowledge about elderly suicide & good will by both the professional community & the public can save lives & increase happiness. The variables associated with elderly suicide, such as depression, paranoia, illness, loss, help rejection, & illness, are discussed, as well as the strengths & assets of the elderly, & the implications for treatment.
