This article presents information on suicides, attempted suicides, & suicidal ideation among children & adolescents. The authors discuss factors which may influence youth suicide, such as the concept of death as temporary, depression, learning disabilities, physical disabilities & illnesses, specific precipitation events, & family problems. They also outline factors which help predict suicide, like previous attempts, verbal statements, depression, hopelessness, & behaviorial changes.
