This letter to the editor describes 2 case histories of patients with major depression who were prescribed the antidepressant, fluoxetine. On the basis of these 2 patients & a study by Teicher et al., the authors assert that clinicians should be alert to the possible side effect of suicidal ideation connected with fluoxetine treatment.
