This story is written by a psychiatrist & based largely on the life & suicide of a patient. It is about a seriously disturbed man, & it is written from his point of view. The man lost his leg in an accident, but was mentally ill long before this incident. A short, traumatic childhood history is provided, as well as descriptions of the patient’s violent & vindicative fantasies & urges. The author concludes that his patient committed suicide to stop himself from killing others. (VM)
