The Relationship Between Certain Problem Areas and Suicidal Thoughts of Adolescents (BF 724 G52 1974 – MICF)
Gibson G S
Investigated the relationship between suicidal thoughts as measured on the Mooney Problem Check List & 13 predictor variables consisting of sex, age, & scores on 11 problem areas, using 759 Alabama high school students as subjects. Home, family, & personal-psychological relations accounted for 15% of the variance in suicidal thought, suggesting that suicide experiences have a number of commonalities. Recommendations are made for establishment of a school-based suicide prevention program.
