159 males & 139 females were randomly assigned a booklet containing directions to provide autobiographical data & either the California F Scale or the Attitudes Toward Suicidal People Questionnaire. Results revealed that higher levels of authoritarianism were related to negative responses to the ad, more females responded positively to the ad than males, & high authoritarian males tended to hold strong religious beliefs related to negativism toward suicidal persons.
